Emergency Plumber vs. Regular Plumber: When to Call Which
Emergency Plumbing
Nobody wants to pay emergency after-hours rates (often 1.5x or 2x standard rates) if they don't have to. Here is a quick checklist to help you decide.
Call an Emergency Plumber If:
- You have no water service at all.
- You have no working toilet (and it's the only one in the house).
- Water is flooding your home and you cannot stop it.
- You smell gas.
Wait for a Regular Appointment If:
- A faucet is dripping (even heavily).
- One toilet is clogged, but you have a second one that works.
- Your water heater is out, but you can survive a day without a hot shower.
- A drain is slow but still moving.
