How to Remove Calcium Buildup from Showerheads
Showers Bathtubs
If your showerhead looks like it has white barnacles growing on it, you have hard water. Calcium and magnesium deposits clog the tiny nozzles, ruining your water pressure.
The Bag Method (No Tools Required)
- 1. Fill a Ziploc Bag: Pour about a cup of white vinegar into a sturdy plastic bag.
- 2. Submerge: Lift the bag up around the showerhead so the nozzle is completely submerged in the vinegar.
- 3. Secure: Use a rubber band or zip tie to secure the bag to the shower arm.
- 4. Wait: Let it soak for at least 4 hours (or overnight).
- 5. Rinse: Remove the bag and run the hot water. Use an old toothbrush to scrub away any remaining loose scale.
